Why Us
Direct access to the person doing the work — local, flexible, and honest about capability.
Hand deburring & precision surface finishing
We handle the finishing step between machining or fabrication and final assembly — working entirely on your premises so parts never leave your control, never need packing, and never sit in transit.
On-Site Hand Deburring
Manual removal of burrs from machined, cut, punched, and formed parts, carried out at your workshop — precise, selective work without affecting the rest of the part.
Edge Breaking & Blending
Sharp edges softened to a consistent radius or chamfer, to drawing callout, done on-site across external edges, internal bores, and machined features.
Polishing & Surface Finishing
Removal of tool marks, mill scale, and surface imperfections ahead of coating, plating, welding, or assembly — so downstream processes go on clean.
Pre-Assembly & Pre-Coating Prep
Edge and surface preparation completed on-site immediately before assembly or coating, so parts move straight into the next process without leaving your building.
Internal Bore & Port Deburring
Burr removal from drilled holes, ports, and internal bores — important on hydraulic and pneumatic components where a stray burr can damage a seal.
Batch Processing, On-Site
From short prototype runs to full production batches, finished at your premises. A five-piece prototype gets the same attention to spec as a five-hundred-piece order.
Quality Inspection & Sign-off
Visual and dimensional checks against your drawing or reference sample, completed on-site, with first-off approval on new jobs.
Flexible, Scheduled Around You
We work around your production schedule — including evenings and weekends where needed — so on-site finishing never costs you downtime.
On-site finishing for Stockport & Greater Manchester’s manufacturing base
Sharpline Deburring works alongside CNC machine shops, fabricators, and engineering firms across Stockport, Greater Manchester, and Cheshire — travelling to your site rather than asking you to ship parts out.
From enquiry to sign-off, all on-site
A straightforward, five-phase process whether it’s a five-piece prototype or a five-hundred-piece repeat order — carried out entirely at your workshop, with sign-off built in before any batch runs at full volume.
Enquiry
Send a drawing, a photo, or just describe the job — material, quantity, and what needs finishing. No formal spec required to get started.
Quote or free trial visit
A clear price based on the actual job, or book a free no-obligation trial visit — show us what needs finishing and we’ll demonstrate on the spot.
First-off approval
For new parts or new customers, one part is finished on-site first for your sign-off before the full batch runs — so there are no surprises on a large order.
On-site batch finishing & inspection
The full batch is finished at your workshop to the approved standard, then visually and dimensionally checked against your drawing or reference sample.
Sign-off & handover
Finished parts are handed straight back into your process — ready for assembly, coating, or onward dispatch to your customer, without ever leaving your site.

- How fast can a job turn around?
- Same or next-day availability is often possible locally. Tell us your deadline upfront and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s achievable — urgent jobs can be prioritised where the schedule allows.
- Do I need a formal drawing to get a quote?
- No. A sample part, a photo with a description of what needs finishing, or a verbal callout is enough to get started. A formal drawing helps for repeat or tolerance-critical work, but it isn’t required for a first conversation.
- What if this is a repeat order?
- Repeat jobs are logged against your job history, so we can match the finish, process, and spec of the original run without needing a fresh first-off approval each time — though we’re always happy to run one if you’d like the extra check.
- Do I need to send my parts anywhere?
- No — that’s the whole point. We bring every tool needed to your site and complete the work on your premises. Parts never leave your control, and there’s no packing, transport, or waiting on a return delivery.
- What’s your coverage area?
- We’re based in Stockport and cover all of Greater Manchester and Cheshire as standard, generally within a 20-mile radius. Get in touch if you’re further out — it’s often still workable.
Consistency you can rely on, batch after batch
Deburring is a finishing process — but it’s also the last set of hands your part goes through, on your own site, before it moves on. We treat it that way.
We work to your spec, not our guess
Drawing callouts, edge break tolerances, and finish requirements are followed exactly as issued. Where a callout is ambiguous, we ask before we cut, rather than assume.
Every batch is checked before we leave site
Parts are visually inspected against the drawing or sample reference, with dimensional spot-checks using calipers and gauges where features require it — before we pack up and go.
First-off approval on new jobs
For new parts or new customers, we finish a first sample and get your sign-off before running the full batch — no surprises on a 200-piece order.
Consistent process, consistent result
The same operator, technique, and reference standard is used across a repeat job, so part 1 and part 200 match — and so does the batch you order again in six months.
Traceable job tracking
Every job is logged from intake to dispatch through our internal job management system, so we can tell you the status of your parts and pull up the history of any previous batch.

Materials handled
- Copper
- Aluminium
- Mild Steel
- Stainless Steel
- Brass
Different alloys burr differently — technique is adjusted to the material rather than running everything the same way.
What we don’t do
We won’t tell you we’re certified to a standard we’re not. We are specialist independent mobile deburring technicians — if your programme requires ISO or AS9100-certified suppliers specifically, we’ll say so upfront rather than after you’ve placed an order. What we will do is work within whatever process controls and documentation your quality system requires from a subcontract supplier, and have an honest conversation about what we can and can’t support.
A finishing partner that fits how you actually work
There are a lot of ways to get parts deburred. Here’s why shops across the M62 corridor choose to work with us.
Built around the job, not a production line
Vibratory tumblers and mass-finishing lines are fast, but they’re indiscriminate — they treat every part and every edge the same way. Hand deburring means selective, controlled finishing on the features that actually need it, protecting tolerances, threads, and fine detail that automated processes can damage.

Recent work, hand-finished
A look at finished parts across copper, brass, and steel — hand deburred and edge-broken to spec. New work is added as jobs come through the shop.

The kind of work we take on
A look at typical jobs across CNC subcontracting, fabrication, and precision engineering — illustrating how we approach batches, deadlines, and finish requirements.
These profiles are illustrative examples of typical job types, not specific named client engagements. Real project write-ups and testimonials will replace these as they become available.
Consistent edge-break across a repeat batch order
Challenge
A machine shop needed a uniform 0.3mm edge break across a recurring order of aluminium brackets, with the finish matching exactly from batch to batch over several months.
Approach
A first-off sample was approved against the drawing, and the same reference standard and technique was used on every subsequent run, logged against the job history for traceability.
Outcome
Repeat batches matched the original approved sample consistently, with no rework requested across the order run.
Dross and edge prep ahead of powder coating
Challenge
Laser-cut steel panels needed dross and sharp edges removed before powder coating, on a tight turnaround ahead of an installation deadline.
Approach
Batch hand-finishing was carried out on-site to fit the fabricator’s coating slot, with parts inspected and ready to go straight to the coating line without ever leaving the building.
Outcome
Parts were finished and coating-ready within the required window, with zero transit or handling delay.
Selective finishing on a low-volume prototype run
Challenge
A small batch of prototype components needed careful hand deburring around fine features and tight-tolerance bores, where a tumbling process risked damaging the part.
Approach
Selective hand finishing targeted only the specified edges, protecting the tolerances and features that mattered to the design.
Outcome
All parts passed inspection against the drawing with no tolerance issues on the protected features.
